The 1999 Summer Holiday

Sheila and Ian Goodall spent their 1999 summer holiday in the North of Scotland, using Inverness as a base, because Bill (Ian's Dad) was in a residential home there. A small selection from the 300 slides taken over two weeks in August is shown below. The highlight of the trip was, without question, exploring the 5000 year-old village of Skara Brae on Orkney. Pre-dating the building of the Egyptian Pyramids (and Stonehenge), Skara Brae alone is the reason to visit these islands of over 100,000 cattle and less than 20,000 people. The natives of Orkney are very friendly too, even if their home brew leaves something to be desired.
